Visiteing During Ramadan
Ramadan dates in 2026: approximately février 17 to mars 18, 2026. (Dates shift back 10-11 days each year based on the lunar calendar.)
Should you visit during Ramadan? It's a fascinating cultural experience — but less convenient.
Les avantages
- Villes feel calmer during the day
- Incredible evening atmosphere after Iftar (sunset meal) — streets come alive
- Fewer tourists, lower prices
- Unique cultural immersion if you respect local customs
Les inconvénients
- Many local restaurants closed during the day (though tourist restaurants remain open)
- Reduced opening hours for monuments and souks
- Locals are tired/fasting — pace of service is slower
- No alcohol served in most places except major hotels
Our honest opinion: C'est un moment particulier pour visiter le pays si vous recherchez de la profondeur culturelle. Pour les premières visites ou les familles avec enfants, nous suggérons d'éviter le Ramadan.
